Account frozen, funds held or terminated?
It happens without warning and usually right when sales are growing. We help you understand what happened, protect the funds you’re owed, and get you processing again with an acquirer that fits your business.
Who this is for
- Accounts closed by Stripe, PayPal, Square or Shopify Payments
- Funds held with no release date
- Merchants placed on the MATCH list
- Accounts in a card-brand monitoring program
The first 48 hours
Keep processing elsewhere if you can, stop running the offer that triggered the review, and gather your last six months of statements. Don’t open accounts under a different name. Underwriters will find the history, and it will count against you.
Getting your money back
Held funds are usually released on a schedule after the last chargeback window closes. We help you read the terms, document your refunds and push for the earliest release they allow.
Processing again
Some acquirers accept merchants with a past termination or MATCH listing when the cause is understood and fixed. We present your history honestly and show what has changed.
Frozen or terminated accounts: common questions
What is the MATCH list?
A Mastercard database of merchants whose accounts were terminated for specific reasons. Most acquirers check it. A listing usually lasts five years, but approval is still possible with the right acquirer.
Why did my account get frozen?
Common triggers are a sudden jump in volume or ticket size, rising chargebacks or refunds, a product the platform restricts, or a mismatch between your application and what you actually sell.
